Professional Development

Beyond Poverty Foundation recognises that unemployment rates for ethnic minorities in the UK remain 15% higher than the national average. Systemic barriers-from language gaps to unrecognised qualifications-often lock talented individuals out of stable careers.

We’re tackling this injustice head-on with our Pathways to Employment Skills Academy, a 12-week intensive program designed to create life-changing opportunities.

What We Deliver

Our academy partners directly with employers in high-demand sectors like IT, construction, and care work to deliver:

  • Sector-specific technical training (e.g., NVQ certifications in construction safety, IT helpdesk support modules)

  • Cultural integration workshops to navigate workplace norms and communication styles

  • Helping to secure interviews with employers committed to fair wages and career progression

  • Post-placement mentorship for 6 months to ensure long-term success

Why We’re Invested

We understand the transformative power of meaningful work. Our team includes career coaches who have personally overcome similar challenges, ensuring every workshop tackles real-world obstacles with firsthand insight.

Help fund a workshop today and equip individuals with the skills to secure stable employment and build a better future.
