Domestic Violence Support

Domestic abuse affects 1 in 4 women and 1 in 6 men in the UK, but migrant survivors often face additional hurdles—language barriers, immigration status fears, and cultural stigma. Beyond Poverty Foundation refuses to let these challenges silence victims.

What We Deliver

Our Safe Spaces Initiative provides:

  • 24/7 multilingual helpline staffed by trauma-trained specialists

  • Emergency accommodation partnerships with culturally sensitive refuges

  • Legal advocacy to navigate housing, custody, and immigration issues

  • Financial independence programs (e.g., secret bank accounts, employment support)

  • Direct signposting to legal advice for victims of domestic violence

  • Welfare and housing support to help survivors rebuild their lives

  • Specialist training and outreach services including:

    • Domestic abuse awareness & coercive control

    • VAWG professional champion course (multi-day training)

    • Honour-based violence & forced marriage education

    • Support for non-english speakers affected by VAWG

    • Online safety & sexual abuse awareness programs

Our Commitment

While our current proposals focus on financial and employment support, we’re actively collaborating with domestic violence organisations to design and expand this service.

Join us in creating safe futures. Your donation funds emergency housing, training initiatives, and long-term recovery programs.
